Meditation isn’t just about focusing on the breath, or simply ‘feeling good’ or relaxing. The final goal of meditation is to end suffering — suffering being any state or activity that is out of alignment with how we ultimately want to be. Meditation encourages us to look deeper at ourselves and our lives with curiosity, care, and precision to transform problems and afflictions into opportunities to evolve. We meditate to tame our minds and expand our awareness to cultivate more loving, intimate relationships with ourselves, others, and the world we live in.

But commitment doesn’t mean we have to be perfect all the time. Commitment can simply be the sincere wish and promise to ourselves to show up from a place of good intention and innate wisdom to the best of our capacity moment to moment.
